Brant especially is looking forward to reading bedtime stories and I'm (slowly) starting our collection of small classic children's books. I would love for Savannah to hear the same stories that I/we did when we were younger -something about the nostalgia of reading the same books that I did from over 20 years ago is so appealing to me. It would be fun to find these in an old thrift store- but if I'm going to be realistic, I'll just end up ordering them from online. Off the top of my head, the ones I remember most are-

Okay, these are contemporary but we LOVE "Llama Llama Red Pajama" and "Snuffle Bunny."
And this is totally unsolicited advice but we regret all the books we've bought and rather just get them from the library. There are a few books he wants to read over and over but it's completely unpredictable which those will be.
Now the only ones we buy are lift-the-flap or church books because the library doesn't carry those.
Mine love Where the Wild things are, Brown Bear Brown Bear, Red fish Blue Fish, (or any Dr Seuss) book of nursery rhymes- Sadies Fav- if i think of more ill let you know!

I just bought Goodnight Moon from TJ Max...Who would have thought they even sell kids books for less...I love that store!
Oh, I love "The Giving Tree"
We love anything by Helen Lester. Her books are so fun. Personal favorites of hers are Listen Buddy, Batter up Wombat, Me First, and A Porcupine Named Fluffy. Of course they are a little old for Savannah......... but still, you and Brant might like them. They are usually easy to find a the library too!
